"The label you give yourself cannot impact external forces that are not motivated by your own psychology or influenced by a third party's pre-existing consciousness of you. We are all presented with reasons to struggle which come from completely external forces; to pretend that one is not struggling is either arrogance or an admission of defeat. To admit that one is struggling is a sign and a source of strength." - Evan A. Baker

I Know People on TV

I'm sitting with my boo and a commercial comes on. "Hey! That girl's in my acting class!"

Then, immediately following it, is a promo for the show Leverage. "And that's one of the guy's I'll be working with on set tomorrow!"

And then, on ANOTHER commercial break is the guy I used to work with a year ago, and there's ANOTHER commercial, with someone I cast in a webseries pilot I made!

Nice.

  1. Hi Lira - thanks for stopping by my blog and for the great suggestion. I took it and removed all that page break stuff.

Looking forward to more of your posts, I'm a subscriber now. :)

  2. Hi Lira,

I just stumbled across your blog, and I LOVE it! I'm struggling to get down to LA, as I'm dealing with oral maxiofacial surgery and braces to be finished and removed before I move down there. I'm also dealing with the cold reality that I'm now in the 40s club, and I know LA idolizes youth. I be down there in the next couple of years, but I often feel like I'm spinning my wheels up here. I have good actress days and bad actress days, as we all do.

I just started an actor blog back up. If you'd like to follow my blog, I'd be humbled and honored. I'd also love to stay in touch.

It's exciting to read about all the stuff you have going on down there...it also lights a fire under my feet, and anxious to get down there.

Please stay in touch, and follow along, if you like my blog.

I tell ya Lira, many days, I feel like I'm starting from scratch all over again.

You have an excellent blog Lira, and I'm grateful to have found you.
